Today we are joined by dutch darts player Michel Van Der Horst, Michel recently competed in the Grand Slam of Darts hosted by the PDC,he failed to get through the group stages but had a close game with Keegan Brown a game which he lost 5-4,where he had doubles for the match.Van Der Horst’s best run in the BDO was in the Zuiderduin Masters in which he reached consecutive quarter final appearances in both 2013 and 2014.

TS: Thanks for joining me Michel, so you recently competed at the Grand Slam of darts in Wolverhampton, you didnt get through the groups, but how was it for you personally?
MvdH: “It was a marvelous feeling. Nothing can compare to that”
TS: Your darts nickname is ‘The Invisible Man’ where did that come from?
MvdH: “PI get it from “little” Richard Ashdown, during the Zuiderduin Masters 2014″
TS: You made your Lakeside debut earlier this year you played Jamie Hughes how was that for you?
MvdH: ” When you play the whole year to get there, then Lakeside a dream come true”
TS: What are your targets for the rest of 2015?
MvdH: “Play the Sunpark Masters and rest of the local tournaments until january then there are no major tournaments”
TS: We all know that Holland has a lot of fantastic dart players, do you play a lot of darts in Holland, the Hague championship took place this weekend just gone did you attend ?
MvdH: “I played the European qualifier instead for the PDC world championships”
TS: How long do you practise daily? And do you practise alone or with a partner?
MvdH: “Mostly alone, sometimes with a partner,i don’t really practice its just to losen my arm”
TS: You did not qualify for lakeside or the Zuiderduin masters, does that make you more determined to qualify for both next time?
MvdH: “Of course, thats why you play darts”
TS: What is your favourite achievement in darts?
MvdH: “Playing Lakeside, its awesome”
TS: Who inspired you to play darts? And do you come from a darting family?
MvdH: Eric Bristow, he’s my role model, when i was a little kid me and my family watched the darts on the BBC
when it was not so popular, Raymond van Barneveld was the man who brought it to the Netherlands.
And yes i come from a darting family, both my mother and father played darts, Also my little sister used to play”
