Q-School 2016 Day 3: De Graaf delight as he earns tour card as Woods,Newell and Campbell get in on the act

The third day at Q School saw two players win their first-ever tour cards, whilst two others regained cards they had just lost.

The first tour card went to Northern Irishman Ray Campbell.

Campbell started the day strong, dropping just two legs total while disposing of Jeffrey Beekhuis, Ron Schouten, and Jason Marriott. However, he was pushed all the way by both Mark Dewsbury and Ian Walters, before surviving to reach the final round of qualifying.

In the final, he faced Vincent Kamphuis, whom he beat 5-3 to win his first ever tour card.

Former BDO #3 Jeffrey de Graaf completed his switch to the PDC by winning through to claim the day’s second tour card.

The young Dutchman, who struggled on Days 1 and 2, whitewashed former World Master and World Matchplay champion Peter Evison in his first match on Day 3. After he was pushed all the way by Simon Burt in the first round proper, de Graaf made light work of Lee Shewan and highly-fancied Jamie Bain, before beating Scott Dale and former UK Open finalist Mark Walsh by identical 5-2 scorelines.

In the final round of qualifying, de Graaf met Simon Preston, who last year lost to three tour card winners in four days at Q School. Preston’s poor luck with the draw continued, as de Graaf showed his class with a comprehensive 5-1 victory.

Day 3’s third tour card went to Tony Newell, who narrowly missed out on maintaining his card through the Order of Merit last season.

Newell dropped more than two legs in a match just once starting with a whitewash victory over Matthew Hayes. He followed with a win in the first round proper over Jeffrey van de Ven, before beating Chris McTernan and Les Mawson each by 5-2 scorelines.

In the Last 32, Newell whitewashed Matt Golding, before he beat Trevor Burkhill and WDF World Cup semi-finalist John Michael to seal his spot on the PDC Pro Tour for 2016.

The day’s final tour card also went to someone who had just lost it, as former Lakeside semi-finalist Brian Woods—who assuredly would have gotten a tour card anyway through the Q School Order of Merit—completed a fantastic week with a perfect day.

Woods started his day with a whitewash of Danny Dyer, but had to survive a tense last-leg shootout to get past the young Englishman Aden Kirk in the Last 128.

Woods made it consecutive 5-4 victories in the Last 64, as he took out the Muffin Man Steve Hine, who also was looking to get back his tour card. Woods then had regulation victories over Joey Ten Berge and Nigel Daniels, before beating the 1998 Circus Tavern quarter-finalist Harry Robinson 5-4 to clinch his card.

Q School wraps up tomorrow, with 4 more cards awarded automatically and approximately 16 to be granted based on the Q School Order of Merit.

If you want more than to just see things from a distance, but instead touch, odor as well
as engage with the landscape, hiking on paths that go into the forest
or across a hill is the method to go. I very recommend
that you comply with the referrals found in the Hiking Safety
Suggestions web page.

In fact, even those people who have bad credits
can apply for it. Whenever you go to a second or third dealership attempting to
get approved, the dealer can see the banks and loan businesses that
you have been sent to currently and have already been turned
down. You may get away with a down payment as little as 5%, but 20% will ensure
lower rates.

Good day! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering
which blog platform are you using for this website?

I’m getting fed up of WordPress because I’ve had problems with hackers and I’m looking at options
for another platform. I would be fantastic if you could
point me in the direction of a good platform.
