Well, Day two of the European Darts Open in Dusseldorf provided a several shocks, high averages and some great games are expected on the final day.
Dave Chisnall made his exit from the competition after a shock defeat at the hands of Jan Dekker as the dutchman won 6-3, probably the most surprising statistic is that there was no 180’s in the entire match Chisnall averaged 90.62, but Dekker averaged just 86.23, but it was the finishing what let Chisnall down as he only had 27.27% on the checkouts even though he had two ton plus finishes of 124 and 115.
There were 52 legs won in less than 15 darts in Round two, with Stephen Bunting having a ten darter in his 6-1 win over Stefan Stoyke.
Gary Anderson had the highest averge of round two with a 107.11 in his 6-1 win over Kim Viljanen, Kim Huybrechts was very impressive in his 6-3 win over his compatriot Dimitri van den Bergh as he hit FIVE 180’s including six perfect darts.
Mensur Suljovic was also very impressive as he defeated John Michael 6-1 with a 103.41 average including an 11 darter to seal the victory.
Michael van Gerwen continued his fantastic form against Jamie Caven as he whitewashed him again, taking just 9:38 to do so, averaging 104.86.
