Dutch Open Day 2 Recap
Martin Adams is on course to retain his Dutch Open title as he easily made the last 64 on day 2 off the Dutch Open Darts in Assen.
He recorded victories over Siegfreid Grantner, Richard Immeker, Raymond Minkmen, Andre Van De Veen and Remko Landmen.
His opponent in last 64 is Sven Helrich.
Also into the last 64 is the new lakeside champion Scott Waites, he beat Jaco Ten Veen, Iwan Klop, Patrick Hendricks, Peter Klein and Gert Van Der Elsen,
In the last 64 Scott will play Davy Van Baelen.
Other notable names in the last 64 are “Super Mc” Kevin McDine who plays Mark Blandford,
Darryl Fitton plays Martin Jongen and could potentially play Kevin McDine in the last 16.
James “Hillbilly” Hurrell with play Derk Telnekes in the last 64 and if he comes through that he plays the winner of probably the tie of the last 64 the winner of Tony West vs Scott Mitchell.
Paul Hogan plays William Mandigers
Martin Atkins, Brian Dawson, Mario Robbe, Jim Williams, Toon Greebe and Richard Veenstra also make the last 64.
It was not to be for Jamie Hughes as he was defeated by Mats Gles 3-2 in the last 128, Tony O’Shea lost to Kevin McDine in last 128, Pip Blackwell could only manage the last 512, Wesley Harms lost in last 128 to Willy Van Der Wiel and Gert De Vos also lost in last 128 to Lewis McGurn.
The Ladies Singles Final will be contested between Lisa Ashton and Lorraine Winstanley,
Lisa Ashton impressed all day only dropping 3 legs on her way to the final and that included a superb 4-0 victory over Anastasia Dobromyslova in the semi final
Lorraine Winstanley certainly had a tougher path to Sundays final with victories over 2015 winner Aileen De Graaf and Deta Hedman.
The newly crowned 10 times World Champion Trina Gulliver lost to Deta Hedman in the ¼ finals 4-0.
Fallon Sherrock was beaten by Anca Zijstra in the last 16.
The Sunday Finals days is being streamed live on Winmau TV and the action kicks off at 10am with the finals on stage from 1300 onwards.
