Ricky Evans is through to the second round of the World Darts Championship after an emphatic 3-2 victory over Simon Whitlock, Evans fought back from 2-0 and just one leg away from a 3-0 defeat, however Evans dug deep and got it back to two sets a piece found himself missing d16 to win the match.
The match went to a tie breaker and Evans took out 130 to win the match with the crowd cheering him on all the way, Evans hit a sensational 9 180s with a 93.48 average to show.
Earlier in the Evening Keita Ono won the preliminary match 2-0 against Alex Tagarao to earn the right to face Phil Taylor in the final game of the evening.
The Dutch destroyer Vincent van der Voort steam rolled past Loz Ryder 3-0 ina routine win for the dutchman as he hit 3 x 180s and a 95 average to set up a tie with Kyle Anderson.
Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor moved into the second round of the World Championship with a routine win over Keita Ono 3-0 including a fantastic 167 finish, and a 121 finish to seal the win averaging 98.39 using a new set of darts.
